The Music Vibe

Welcome, everyone! So straight to the point. I've always loved to write; writing allows me to escape from the real world and showcase my own creations from my whimsical imaginations. I find photography intriguingly fascinating; I believe photographs portray beauty in the most simplest objects. Music is my passion... As simple as that. So, why not combine my lingering interests, create a blog and share it with the world? Actually, I can't take credit for thinking of this myself. I am not very tech-savvy, so I never would have considered creating a blog for the outer-net if it wasn't for a couple of friends... Thank you, Pearl and Parth, for giving me the motivation to do this =).

As some of you know, half of my life is spent in the center of rock concerts throughout various venues in Illinois. I've been going to concerts for over 5 years now (the very first concert I attended was in March 2007: Rise Against opened for My Chemical Romance), but I've lost count of exactly how many concerts I've been to and the number of bands I've seen live (definitely over 100). I've seen bands ranging from MCR to You Me at Six to Green Day to AFI to Middle Class Rut to Kill Hannah. You name them, I've probably seen them =) Several of them, multiple times. But there are many bands that I'd love to see and haven't yet, so please don't be harsh in questioning me.

Music and being involved in the rock concert atmosphere so frequently is a habit that puts a smile on my face. I genuinely believe that smiles are the most powerful remedy. I encourage others to clasp the situations in life that put a smile on their face, and to never let go of those situations. You realize this concept of life through experience. What truly puts a smile on your face will help you find light at the end of the road in the toughest situations. Whether it be family situations, stress, education or relationship complications, that one thing that makes you happy will help you get through the day with a fight. I always listen to music... And I mean always. On the train, while studying, cleaning, in the car, falling asleep. It calms me. I absolutely love reading about music, listening to interviews from artists about how they created the music and their inspiration, discovering new bands and artists. So, no matter how busy my schedule may look, I will find time to attend concerts because it's what makes me happy.

I was recently at a Kill Hannah show at the Bottom Lounge, and I met an acquaintance named Angela. Despite our slight intoxication from the open bar, Angela was one of the most sweetest girls I've ever held a conversation with. I informed her about my interests in music, photography and writing, and also the fact that I want to start blogging about the  recurrent rock concerts I attend. She encouraged me to begin the blog right away. Her words and advice were so inspiring! At the end of the night as we parted, she said to me: "Anita, pursue your dream. I want to see you be happy and make it big. Follow your heart." I was so intrigued on how such simple words from a complete stranger could have such an enormous effect on a person. I simply find happiness in making others happy, so when she sent me her good vibes, I got a glimpse of how it must feel to be on the other side. If I could make every single person around me as happy as I was that evening, I would literally be the happiest person in the world. I took her kind words to heart and created this blog. I hope whoever you are that is reading this will continue to read my posts and enjoy them as if you were actually at the concert.

I have been to many, many concerts and I don't find it very realistic for me to create a post about every single concert I've ever been to, so I will begin with the first concert I attended this year, 2012. I really, really hope no one gets bored, so I will try my best to keep this as interesting as possible for all readers =) Enjoy! And stay tuned... <3
